Land Of Talk…

Montreal’s Land of Talk to Release Applause Cheer Boo Hiss EP March 20 through The Rebel Group

There is more than just “talk” surrounding the Montreal-based, female-fronted guitar rock juggernaut Land of Talk. They have been described as a destructive Stevie Nicks Blonde Redhead mutant, Will Oldham meets Sonic Youth and as a PJ Harvey-meets-Crazy Horse type creature. Applause Cheer Boo Hiss, mixed by Jace Lasek (Wolf Parade, Sunset Rubdown, Malajube, Besnard Lakes) was released in Canada on Maple, where they toured with the Dears, Fiery Furnaces and the Stills.

Now, Applause Cheer Boo Hiss is unleashed on the U.S. With a March 20th release on The Rebel Group.

Land of Talk will hit the road this spring with Memomena and Field Music. They will also be at SXSW, events listed below.

Speak to Me Bones” MP3

“There currently seems to be two camps of people out there in the world – those who have never heard of Montreal buzz band Land of Talk, and those who absolutely adore the group.” – Paste Magazine

– I get a similar feel from Land Of Talk as I do to the female fronted tracks of Broken Social Scene. The band can rock out with the poise of BSS as well but these tracks are a bit more streamlined overall. Review should be up soon.
