Langhorne Slim…

Artist You Should Know

Langhorne Slim is part of the new school of folk music that seems to ironically pay homage to the genre’s forebearers. His style is quite unique for the modern day folk artist though. The spirit of Slim is addictive on his 2005 debut, When The Sun’s Gone Down. He comes off as anything but yet another singer/songwriter. There is a definite punk rock influence in Slim’s songs and it really adds a lot of personality to a genre that has seemingly been watered down by too many sensitive types. When The Sun’s Gone Down is a stirring debut from an artist just getting his feet wet. It’s also an album that surely would have made my year end best of list had I heard it in 2005.
